The objective of the Quartz Creek Improvement Association is to promote and preserve our natural resources, our historical places of interest and to bring about civic betterment and social improvement.
Founded in 1968, the Quartz Creek Improvement Association brings together neighbors from Parlin, Ohio City, and Pitkin Colorado. Our goal to provide a sense of community to our rural valley is embedded in everything we do. QCIA owns and maintains the Ohio City School House and leases the Ohio City Hall. These historical places of interest are available to the membership and public to rent for communal gatherings, included but not limited to weddings, photoshoots, and fundraising dinners.
We believe in providing a variety of fundraising options to meet the unique needs of all our neighbors in the valley. Membership dues provide funding to pay for building utilities, insurance, taxes, and other related building expenses. Fundraising includes community dinners, an annual bake sale, and QCIA merchandise. Donations from these events fund a Continuing Education Scholarship to a valley resident annually.
We need your feedback on our development plan and your donation support. Please reach out to board members to share feedback. In Jan 2024 we are applying for community grants to help fund development!
Adults of any age wishing to enhance their knowledge with post high school or post college education/training can apply. Applicants must be full time residents of Quartz Creek Valley. Applications are sent annually to the membership in Spring for Board Of Directors to review and award monetary scholarships.
Become a sustaining donor and make a lasting impact on our organization. By making a monthly donation, you'll provide reliable support that directly contributes to the education of our community members.
Three Quartz Creek Valley residents were awarded $500 towards their continued education.
Make a lasting impact on QCIA's mission by including us in your estate plan. With planned giving, you can support our work for years to come while also receiving tax benefits and other advantages.
We love our community and are looking to grow our membership.
